🏗️ What We Build
- 💧Water tanks and waterhouses
Many families have no access to clean water. Building a water tank can be life-changing — and life-saving, as waterborne disease is common. - 🐐Goat sheds
Livestock is valuable income for families. Proper sheds protect animals and income. - 🏠Houses
Mud brick homes reinforced with concrete columns. Better housing reduces malaria risk (mosquitoes thrive in poor conditions).
- 🎓Menstrual health programme
Working in schools to improve sanitation and dignity for girls. - ☀️Albino school support
People with albinism face severe discrimination and health risk in Tanzania. Go MAD supports the albino school community with sun protection and resources. - 👶Children's and youth work
Sports, play, and activities for children in the community.
💰 Fundraising
Each volunteer is encouraged to raise around £400 for the projects. Every pound goes directly to materials and project costs. Go MAD leaders' salaries are covered by trip fees — fundraising never goes to staff pay.
Fundraising ideas
- • Cake sales (one volunteer raised £1,000+ at church)
- • Sponsored runs or swims

How to share
- • Go MAD provides leaflets to share with donors

💬 What Volunteers Say
"I just wanted to say the biggest and most heartfelt thank you for what has truly been one of the most incredible life-changing experiences of my life. Going to Tanzania has shifted my perspective on so many things. I've come back a kinder, more fulfilled and deeply grateful person."
"The whole trip is a highlight — but being able to build a waterhouse for a family and give them access to clean water for the first time, to see how grateful they were... that's something we just take for granted."
"My first trip came at a time where I needed to be shown a bigger picture of what life was outside this bubble. It's allowed me to make decisions about my university course — I want to progress with this type of work."
"I went on my family holiday last summer instead of coming, and I was completely restless the whole time. I thought, I could use my time so much better. Embrace it as much as you can."
"Start saving now — because they will want to come back. The experience has made her completely more independent. She has lifelong friends. It's just totally changed her."
