- ✓Bring $435 USD for the safari balance
- ✓Notes must be 2006 or newer
- ✓Notes must have no rips or tears — the bank won't accept damaged notes
- ✓Prefer large denominations: $100 and $50 bills; top up with $20, $10, $5, $1
- 💡If you're uncomfortable carrying a large amount of cash, hand it to a leader in a named envelope before boarding

🐝 Tsetse Fly Warning — Important!
Do NOT wear blue or black clothing on safari. Tsetse flies are strongly attracted to these colours. Their bite is extremely painful and can cause significant swelling. They also spread sleeping sickness.
One of the Go MAD leaders was bitten once and her whole foot swelled up for days. Light, neutral colours only.

- 🦁 Lion — very reliable; habituated to vehicles
- 🐘 Elephant — herds common throughout
- 🦒 Giraffe — almost guaranteed
- 🦛 Hippo pools — you smell them before you see them
- 🐆 Leopard — harder to spot but present
- 🐆 Cheetah — one of the highest densities in Africa
- 🦬 Buffalo — large herds
- 🦓 Zebra & wildebeest — Great Migration heading north in June
🚗 On Safari
- • Game drives in 4WD vehicles
- • More tourist-style clothing acceptable here — shorts are fine
- • No blue or black (tsetse flies)
- • Bring swimming costume — hotel pool possible
- • During safari you can access Wi-Fi to contact home
